The auction in December for IPL is expected to kick-start the season on a high note with both teams strengthening their resources. However, RCB might be affected by the lack of quality spin options in the Chepauk pitch, traditionally known to favor spinners. Devon Conway hasn't been in great form for New Zealand in international cricket lately, but he turned things around recently with a half-century against Australia. His record in T20 cricket is impressive, with an average of 65.00 and a strike rate of 133.1, scoring 390 runs in the last two IPL seasons. Interestingly, Conway has never been dismissed for a single-digit score on this ground in the IPL, showcasing his consistency and ability to make meaningful contributions.
The 39-year-old Faf du Plessis is well acquainted with the Chepauk Stadium and has been playing for CSK for several years. The experienced South African batsman will play a crucial role in setting up a good score for Royal Challengers Bangalore on this ground. He has scored four half-centuries in 19 matches at this venue and is the fifth-highest run-scorer in IPL history at Chepauk.

Last year, there was a slight advantage for the team chasing compared to the team batting first, as the pitch slowed down and became more conducive to spin bowling in the latter part of the game, making run-scoring difficult. Under lights, spinners found good assistance in the second half of the game. It is hoped that the pitch at Chepauk will continue to be sluggish as usual, aiding Chennai's spinners to perform well.
